Quix Design System
The system that standardized design & saved the company $1.M in 6 months
At Equinix, I initiated and led the development of Quix, the company’s first comprehensive design system, aimed at streamlining design processes, reducing technical debt, and enhancing usability. By collaborating closely across design, product, and engineering teams, we defined and scaled reusable components and established governance models to ensure long-term growth.
A self-serve documentation hub was launched to facilitate easy adoption across teams. Quix became foundational to Equinix’s UX, driving efficiency, collaboration, and scalable design excellence.
The system’s impact was significant, saving $1.5 million in six months, cutting development time by 40%, and increasing design consistency by 60%. This initiative not only standardized design practices but also fostered a culture of craft, clarity, and accountability throughout the organization.
